     Madrid has a wide offer of accommodation. However, prices within the city centre tend to be significantly higher than in other cities. While cheaper rates can be obtained in the outskirts of the city, we have negotiated special fares for AVFA2009 attendees in high quality hotels within the same area as the conference venue belonging to the Sol-Melia group, one of the most relevant hotel companies in Spain.      Madrid also has a good offer of cheaper accommodation at the heart of the city. This may be a good option for student participants. Some of the hostels recommended by the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid with good undeground connections to the conference venue are: Hostal Villagarcía, Hostal Villar, Hostal Astoria.
